Ukrainian Night – black gabbro from Ukraine

Ukrainian Night is a black gabbro from the Buky deposit in Ukraine. Geologically it is not a granite – gabbro is a quartz-free igneous rock – but the stone trade sells it as black granite, and it performs like the best of them: dense, hard and able to take a deep mirror polish with almost no visible structure.
That makes it a direct alternative to imported absolute black for memorials, countertops and interior details, with a shorter supply route to the Nordics. Polished is the classic finish; flamed and brushed surfaces soften the black to charcoal for steps, paving details and facades.
